A snowshoe walk in Alagna or Gressoney in the evening means stars, ice, and mountain cuisine. It’s the perfect blend of the chilly air from an evening snowshoe walk and the warm welcome of the refuges of Monte Rosa. Every Saturday evening, we invite you to join us for a snowshoe outing in Alagna or Gressoney to one of the refuges in our area and savor a dinner featuring typical mountain dishes.
The air is crisp, and with each step in snowshoes, the snow crunches beneath your feet. The sky is black, adorned with stars, and the snow-covered woods are magical and silent. You may feel like you’re getting lost in nature until you see the lights of your refuge in the distance.
Each refuge we recommend is located on the edges of the most well-known off-piste descents in the area. Snowshoeing excursions take place every Saturday with a minimum of 6 participants.
Check the Monterosa Ski webcams to see if snowshoeing is possible

Meet the guide at 4:00 PM at our offices in Alagna, via dei Walser 6. Equipment check and material adjustment. We’ll start as the sky darkens, and the snow becomes more sparkling. With snowshoes on our feet, we’ll reach the refuge in about an hour and a half/two, ready to savor a typical mountain dishes dinner. After dinner, we’ll return to Alagna, still wearing our snowshoes.
The refuge dinner will take place at either Rifugi Zar Senni, Der Shoppf, or Il Pastore, chosen based on snow conditions.
