Day 1
Our adventure begins with a meeting with the guide, where we’ll conduct a thorough equipment check and distribute technical materials essential for our journey. The ascent kicks off within the breathtaking landscape of Gran Paradiso, surrounded by majestic larches and towering peaks. After approximately 2,5 hours, we’ll arrive at Rifugio Chabod or Vittorio Emanuele, where a well-deserved dinner awaits, followed by an overnight stay. With hopes high for a full moon, we anticipate the magical touch it will add to our overnight stay.
Day 2
As the first light of day breaks, we embark on an exhilarating journey. Our path takes us across the moraine and the awe-inspiring Laveciau glacier. Over the course of about 5 hours, we’ll make our way to the summit cross on Gran Paradiso, a pinnacle that promises not only a challenging climb but also unparalleled views of the surrounding alpine beauty. This day is a culmination of our efforts, rewarding us with the achievement of reaching the summit and taking in the majestic panorama that unfolds before us
– 5 layers of clothing for the upper body (thermal shirt, light fleece, heavy fleece, down jacket, anorak.)
– two set of gloves (soft and ski ones)
– sunglasses (with 3 or 4 protection)
– heavy trousers (windproof)
– underpants
– gaiters
– rigid, ankle height, waterproof boots.
– two pair of ski socks
– headlamp
– hat that covers your ears
– bag sheet for the hut
– sun screen & lip balm
– poles
– ice axe (if are used to it)
– helmet is recommended but not compulsory
– 1lt water bottle/thermos
– harness & crampons
Please note, a sleeping bag liner is mandatory in all mountain huts.

Difficulty: PD- some mountaineering difficulties on rock or snow, rock or ice slopes up to 34-40°. Technically not difficult glacier hike, but followed by an exposed snowy ridge.
Ascent time: approximately 5 hours
Elevation gain: approximately 890 meters

If, due to your physical condition or for any other reason, your guide decides that you are not ready for the activity you have chosen, you will be offered alternatives adapted to your level of preparation.
